In Iraklion, Crete’s biggest city, just 22 km away, you will get a glimpse of the pulsating life of the local people, have the opportunity to stroll along the colourful market street, or go shopping in one of the numerous top quality shops.
For young and old, the newly opened Aquarium in Gournes (5 km) provides a close encounter with the underwater life of the Greek seas, presenting a wide variety of fish species in their natural environment.
The Lassithi Plateau, (40 km away), with its windmills and many traditional villages, provides a picturesque place to spend an unforgettable day.
